My daughter, Emma, is turning 8 and wants a cowgirl party this year. She and her cousins have played cowgirls/horses for years now and I guess this theme was inevitable! So I decided to look for decorations for her party. Hmmm... one *big* problem... anything that has to do with horses or cowboys was definitely geared more toward boys. Blues and reds... where were the pinks?? So... I got out my trusty Cricut and my Old West cartridge-- a must have when you have a horse lover in the house-- and got to work. This is what I came up with:
Emma has a pink cowgirl hat with a sparkles on the brim, so that is why I chose the bright pink. It looks great with the tan and chocolate brown colors and I love the way it turned out!
Here is how I did it:
The wanted poster was cut using the Fit to Page feature. The bigger hat and the stars were cut at 5". The font and smaller hat and boots were cut at 2.5". I inked everything using Vintage Photo distress ink by Tim Holtz. I used white Martha Stewart glitter on the brim of the hat. I punched holes in the stars and they are held together with brads to create the banner.
Here are a couple of close ups of the inking and pen stitching:
Too cute! This would have been great at the Cricut-Dallas Stampede earlier this year. Too fun! Good luck :)
